The Season for Change is Now!

Greetings Dear Reader,

What a winter we've had right?  Little to no snow, cool but not bitter cold, and even a tornado has torn through the middle of the area and left damage and devastation behind.  The seasons come and go and reminds me that God is still faithful.

As I prepare for Easter, I am reminded of Jesus' warning to His disciples about the end times.  The signs are everywhere that His glorious return is imminent.  Are we truly prepared to join Him in the air at the last trumpet's sound?

I encourage you to take just a moment and reflect on your relationship with Jesus.  Do you faithfully attend a Bible preaching, Gospel trusting church?  What's your prayer life like?  Do you even have a true relationship with Jesus or are you just friends?  As the day of Christ's return draws near, ARE YOU READY?

Friend, I beg you to consider your life (I can't judge you and won't) and where you're honestly heading.  If you truly can say "Jesus is my Lord and Savior", I rejoice with you!  If you call Him "Lord" but don't treat Him as such, you're just lying to Him and yourself.  Repent and believe on Jesus Christ for your salvation.  Repent means to change the direction we are going.  What God asks is for us to turn away from sin.  Put down the booze or drugs, stop mistreating your spouse and/or kids, end the gossiping or lying and turn towards Him.

If you are a believer, your life should be a reflection of your relationship with Jesus.  Worship is a healthy lifestyle.  There is great healing and joy to be found in worship.  Don't think that church is a place for sinless and pure folks(no such thing). Everyone in the church is a sinner and needs Jesus. The church is a hospital for sinners who need healing and strength for each new day.  Jesus gives all of us restoration when we truly worship Him with our hearts not our mouths.  Will you take consider your life and make a change?  If you have felt God calling you out and are ready to surrender to Him, I'd like you to pray to Him similar to what I have prepared below:

Father God, I cry out to You now because I realize I am a sinful person.  I know that with sin in my life I am not pleasing to You.  I believe the Bible is true and trust in Jesus now for my salvation.  I repent of all my sins and ask You to please forgive me as I surrender my will to Yours.  Please wash me clean from my past and repair all the damage my sin has caused.  Help me to understand Your Word and apply it to my life so that I can withstand the temptations this world and my enemy put before me.  Thank you Jesus for dying in my place and offering me Your free gift of salvation.  I accept it, knowing You will never leave me or forsake me.  In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

If you just prayed this prayer above and meant it with all your heart, I have good news for you!   Jesus just saved you!  God is not willing that any should perish but that ALL would come to repentance!

Now to help you stay true to your pledge of faith in Jesus, I encourage you to CONNECT with your local Bible believing and preaching church!  Life is hard enough without someone to stand by your side and encourage you.   Then I encourage you to GROW in understanding and wisdom by studying God's Word in Sunday School and Bible Study.  Finally, you need to SERVE the Lord diligently and faithfully and share with others you know about what Jesus has done in your life.  Share the good news that you made Him the Lord and Savior of your life!

CONNECT, GROW, SERVE- Our mission statement at DBC.  It is a basic concept that helps believers of all ages mature into the vessel God wants us to be.  We honor Him by our faithfulness.

I invite you to join us at DBC if you don't have a church to call home.  Please don't let the foolish things of this world keep you from making Heaven your home in eternity!

If you still have doubts or questions, you won't find the answers outside of a Bible professing church.  Just more questions.  Perhaps you don't feel comfortable in church, I used to feel the same way till I realized that the people who are serious about their relationship with Jesus want to help you, not hurt you.  No church is perfect, but a Bible professing church is perfect for all sinners.  Remember that "All have sinned and fell short of the glory of God".  It is how we repent from these sins that shows God that we are serious about our faith.  Stand strong dear reader and choose this day Whom you will serve.

Trust in Jesus and may God bless you!
